Saltash has a particular character, formed in part by it being ‘the gateway to Cornwall.’ The bridges across the Tamar river connect us to Devon in the east, and the A388 road running through the town heads visitors on into the heart of the county of Cornwall. This connection means we have visitors from many parts of the country passing through, as well as links with the ‘ocean city’ of Plymouth.

Saltash, Wesley seeks to build bridges in its own ways, into partnership in the surrounding communities, in fellowship with Christians of other denominations and churches in the town, and in personal welcome extended to people from vastly different walks of life. We have thriving toddler group, and connections with numerous young families, links into residential care homes, and a long-standing partnership with a sister church in Mbare, a very poor suburb of Harare, Zimbabwe. In recent years, our ministry with people experiencing homelessness has developed rapidly, and we often now have the privilege of providing help in the form of food, rest, advice and practical support of many facing such challenges.

We are constantly thinking how we can extend our welcome and develop our work done in the name of Christ. If you’d like to know more, drop us a line, or come in and talk to one of us about our life sharing together as followers of Jesus.
